Smart Home for the Visually Impaired
The Smart Home for the Visually Impaired includes features for temperature control, earthquake detection, and bathroom entry detection, providing auditory notifications to enhance safety and convenience. It is cost-effective and enhances the daily lives of visually impaired individuals by automating essential home functions and increasing their psychological comfort.
Smart Home for the Visually Impaired is an invention that includes features such as temperature control within the home, earthquake detection and shelter creation, bathroom entry detection, and notifications about the status of these operations.
Temperature Control: Using a temperature and humidity sensor, the device measures the indoor temperature and activates a cooling fan if the temperature is uncomfortable. The cooling fan automatically stops once the desired temperature is reached, reducing the need for visually impaired individuals to search for a remote control to adjust the temperature.
Earthquake Detection: The device uses a tilt sensor to detect earthquakes. Upon detection, a buzzer sounds an alarm, and a servo motor deploys a protective shield in front of the buzzer to guard against falling objects.
Bathroom Entry Detection: When someone enters the bathroom, an ultrasonic sensor detects the presence and triggers the buzzer to play music. When the person leaves, the music stops, and if connected to an additional sensor on the toilet, it can also automatically flush.
This smart home system aims to minimize the concerns of visually impaired individuals in their daily lives, allowing them to relax and focus on other tasks, thereby increasing their efficiency. It is cost-effective as it can be implemented by adding a few components to existing homes. The temperature control feature helps save on air conditioning and heating costs, while the earthquake detection and shelter creation features enhance safety and reduce damage from disasters. Additionally, the buzzer provides auditory feedback, which increases psychological comfort for the visually impaired by playing music or alerting them to potential dangers.
